Project Manager - Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings

PEMB Project Manager Job Summary:
Schwob is seeking a Project Manager to lead pre-engineered metal building projects from award through completion. This role is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, procurement, subcontractors, and client relationships while supporting safe, high-quality project execution.
The ideal candidate understands PEMB systems and steel erection, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of delivering projects on time and within budget.
PEMB Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of assigned PEMB projects, including procurement, construction, and closeout.
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and scope requirements to identify responsibilities, exclusions, and potential project risks.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, cost forecasts, and financial reports.
- Coordinate with building manufacturers, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and field leadership.
- Manage submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and change orders.
- Coordinate fabrication schedules, material deliveries, site readiness, and erection sequencing.
- Work closely with superintendents to monitor progress, address field challenges, and maintain quality expectations.
- Coordinate building components and interfaces, including structural steel, roofing, wall panels, insulation, trim, and accessories.
- Track changes in scope, document cost and schedule impacts, and secure required approvals.
- Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with owners, general contractors, and project partners.
- Support company safety standards and accountability throughout project execution.
- Oversee punch lists, warranties, required documentation, and final project closeout.
PEMB Project Manager Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience managing PEMB, structural steel, or industrial construction projects.
- Working knowledge of metal building systems, steel erection practices, and construction sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, erection drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, procurement, cost control, and change management.
- Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate effectively with office and field teams.
- Degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
