Senior Construction Estimator

We are currently seeking a Senior Estimator with 7-10 years previous experience with a General Contractor. Commercial construction experience is required and a positive, innovative, teamwork attitude is a must. Only qualified candidates with 7-10 years experience will be considered.
Key Result Areas and Accountabilities:
As a Senior Construction Estimator, you will play a critical role in our pre-construction phase by providing accurate cost estimates for upcoming projects. You will work closely with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to assess project requirements, develop comprehensive estimates, and ensure competitiveness in the bidding process. Your expertise will be crucial in helping to maintain our high standards of quality and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to identify scope, materials, and labor requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and architects to clarify project details, resolve discrepancies, and optimize costs.
- Conduct thorough market research and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Review and analyze bids from subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project specifications and budget constraints.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of unit costs, labor rates, and material prices to support estimating processes.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and participate in bid presentations to clients.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior estimators and other team members.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and construction methods to enhance estimating practices.
- Participate in project reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualification Requirements:
- Degree in Construction related field required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on general construction estimating.
- Demonstrated proficiency in estimating software and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proven experience in leading estimating teams and projects.
- Professional certifications are a plus.
